Description: The project aims to analyze the impact of a COVID-19 vaccination campaign in "Complexo da Maré", one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro and the largest complex of favelas in Brazil. In order to evaluate vaccine effectiveness and its indirect effects, residents from all 16 favelas that constitute the complex completed serological surveys every six months. Besides blood sampling, the study protocol includes interviews, and record linkage to secondary data associated with cohort participants.
