Abstract:
The last fifteen years considerable efforts have expanded in different countries to explore the possibilities of using solar energy to meet part or all of the heating energy requirements of the greenhouses.
The main emphasis has been given to the developments of simple and low cost heating systems with short payback period.
Among the big variety of solar systems which have been developed, only few found practical applications.
The passive solar system designed in the Agricultural Research Center of Northern Greece found to be the most acceptable for practical application by the growers, because it is very simple in the construction and very effective in the use.
