본 연구는 만 24개월 영아의 도움, 나눔 행동 발달 양상을 살펴보고, 도움, 나눔 행동 발달의 개인차 요인들을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구 목적에 따라 본 연구는 만 24개월 영아를 대상으로 도움 행동과 나눔 행동 산출 빈도를 측정하였으며, 영아의 기질 및 어린이집경험에 관한 설문을 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 영아들은 친사회적 행동이 요구되는 실험 조건에서 통제 조건보다 도움 및 나눔 행동을 더 많이 산출하였고, 나눔 행동보다 도움 행동을더 많이 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 영아의 기질과 관련하여서는 외향성의 하위요인인 즉흥성과 강한 자극 선호성의 수준이 높은 영아들이 낮은 수준의 영아들보다 도움 및 나눔 반응을더 많이 보인 것으로 나타났다. 어린이집의 경험 여부에 따른 영아의 도움 및 나눔 행동 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구는 기존 해외 및 국내 연구에서 관찰되어 온 영아의 친사회적행동 발달 과정에 대한 추가 자료를 제공한다.
The current study examined 24-month-old children’s abilities to develop prosocial behaviors such as helping and sharing and whether their temperament and experiences in child care-centers influence this development. Twenty-four-month-old children were administered helping and sharing tasks and their parents completed questionnaires regarding their children’s temperament and experiences in child-care centers. The results showed that the children were more likely to exhibit helping and sharing behaviors in the experimental than in the control conditions. In addition, helping and sharing behaviors were positively associated with some dimensions of temperament such as impulsivity and high-intensity pleasure, whereas experiences in child care-centers had no influence.
