시지각 능력과 학업성취도의 관계 분석

본 연구는 시지각 능력과 학업성취의 관련성을 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 경기도에 위치한 1개 초등학교 3-6학년 아동 81명이었다. Gardner의 시지각 기능 검사(TVPS-R)를 검사도구로 사용하였고, 시지각 기능 검사의 총점, 각 하위 영역(시각변별, 시각기억, 공간관계, 형태항상성, 순차기억, 도형배경, 시각통합) 점수와 국어, 수학, 사회, 과학 점수의 상관을 분석하였다. 그 결과 학년과 과목에 따라 차이가 있기는 하지만 시지각 능력과 학업성취도가 유의한 상관을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 학년이 증가함에 따라 학업성취도와 시지각 능력의 관련성이 낮아지는 모습을 보이지 않았다. 6학년의 경우 순차기억 영역 점수가 국어, 수학, 사회, 과학 점수와 유의한 상관을 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 학습부진이나 학습장애 아동을 교육하거나 치료할 때 이들에게 시지각 문제가 있는지 점검하고, 시지각 문제가 있을 경우 이에 대한 개입이 필요함을 시사한다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between visual perceptual skills and academic achievement. For this study administered the TVPS-R tests to 81 children between 3 grade and 6 grade in elementary school located in Gyeonggi-do. As a test instrument, TVPS-R and academic achievement test were used. Based on the test results, this study analyzed the correlation between TVPS-R score and academic achievement test score. Correlation between TVPS-R subtest score and academic achievement test score was significant in Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. Visual perceptual skills are related to the academic achievement.
