청각장애학생의 독서능력 신장 연구

이 연구는 청각장애학생이 학령기에 사용한 독서전략 요인과 학부모와 초․중등학교 담임교사의 독서지원 내용을 밝히고, 이의 공통점을 추출하여 청각장애학생의 독서능력 신장 전략 및 지원방안을 제시하기 위해 이루어졌다. 연구 대상은 청각장애대학생 2명(남, 여학생 각 1명), 청각장애대학생 학부모 2명, 청각장애대학생을 지도했던 초‧중등 담임교사 4명이다. 이 연구의 결론은 첫째, 청각장애학생의 독서능력은 초․중등학교 학령기 단계에서 학부모와 초‧중등학교 담임교사의 동기유발과 독서환경 조성에 의해 긍정적인 영향을 받는다. 둘째, 청각장애자녀의 수준과 흥미를 고려한 학부모의 조기 독서지원은 청각장애학생의 독서능력에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 셋째, 청각장애학생의 초‧중등학교 담임교사의 독서에 대한 동기유발, 학생의 수준에 맞는 책 선정 방법 등의 지원이 독서지도의 효과로 나타난다. 청각장애학생을 위한 독서전략 요인과 지원 내용의 중심에는 신문 읽기, 인터넷 활용, 다양한 현장체험학습 실시 후 보고서 쓰기, 다독에 대한 보상, 그리고 다양한 장르의 책 읽기 전략 및 지원 등이 있다. 따라서 청각장애학생이 사용했던 독서전략 요인과 학부모 및 초‧중등 담임교사의 독서지원 내용에 해당하는 핵심 요소에 기초한 독서지도 계획이 고려되어야 한다.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the reading strategies and supports to improve reading ability for hearing impaired students. Therefore this study was to investigate what were the reading strategies of the college students with hearing impairment and what were the supports of the hearing impaired college students' parents and teachers in charge. Two college students with hearing impairment, two parents of the hearing impaired college students, and four teachers, two elementary and two secondary level, in charge when the college students with hearing impairment were attending at the school for the deaf were participated for this study. The interview methods were utilized for this study. The results of this study were that: (a) the reading strategies of the college students with hearing impairment were influenced by the parents and teachers's motivation and reading circumstances. Newspaper reading, internet use, writing on field trip, drama on TV, reading together with parents and teachers, re use, on reading from parents and teachers were common and important factors and strategies to be used by the students; (b) the level and interest of the students were considered by parents that were effective strategies. Especially early intervention for reading was very important factor to develop reading abilities for the hearing impaired students; (c) to increase the reading abilities for hearing impaired students, the motivation and book selection method which was considered in their levels were very effective factors to be used by teachers in charge; and (d) the core strategies in effective reading for hearing impaired students were newspaper reading, internet use, writing on various field trips, rewards for reading of the many books, and reading on various genres. Therefore this study concluded that parents and teachers have to consider to develop reading abilities for hearing impaired students the core strategies.
