Abstract

A new preparation method for the high Tc superconductor, Ba2Y1Cu3O7-δ ceramics has been developed by the combination of the conventional and the chemical powder processing methods. A single phase of Ba2Y1Cu3O7-δ was prepared by sintering at around 800°C for more than 6h in the air, which indicated low a oxygen pressure. The superconducting transition temperature measured by the resistivity change was elevated from 93K to 104K with decreasing the sintering temperature.
