이 연구는 여자무용수(일반무용전공과 댄스스포츠 전공) 537명을 대상으로 심리를 측정하는 자기대상화(self-objectification)와 사회적체형불안(social physique anxiety), 그리고 신체불만족(body dissatisfaction) 변인들 관계를 분석하였다. 이론적으로 사회적체형불안이 자기대상화와 신체불만족에 매개효과를 할 것이라는 연구가설을 구조방정식모형(structure equating modeling)으로 검증하였다. 설계한 모형의 적합도 TLI= .939, CFI= .946, 그리고 RMSEA= .067로 검증되었고, Bootstrap 기법을 통해 연구가설을 검증하였다. 그 결과, 통계적으로 사회적체형불안이 자기대상화와 신체불만족에 매개효과로 작용하는 것으로 나타났으며 완전매개효과와 불완전매개효과에 대한 분석결과 불완전매개효과가 보다 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 통계적으로 여자무용수들의 자기대상화가 신체불만족에 미치는 영향은 사회적체형불안을 매개효과로 삽입했을 때 증가한다. 이는 현재 여자무용수들에게 타인들의 시선으로 보는 자신의 외모에 대한 판단(자기대상화)이 높을수록 자신의 신체에 대한 불만족이 높음을 시사하며, 이 현상은 사회적체형불안의 간접적인 영향으로 판단된다. 그러나 경로계수의 효과크기(Effect Size)로 해석하면 여자무용수들의 신체불만족에 자기대상화와 사회적체형불안이 주는 설명력은 크지 않다. 여자무용수들이 만족하는 신체는 사회문화적 기준에 맞춘 날씬한 몸매가 아닌 무대위에서 동작기술과 조화를 이룰 수 있는 아름다운 체형이라고 논할 수 있다. 이 연구를 토대로 여자무용수들의 신체불만족에 미치는 또 다른 변인을 고려한 다중매개효과검증이 요구된다.
This study analyzed the relationship of woman dancers’ (dance major & dance sport major) self-objectification, social physique anxiety and body dissatisfaction as psychological measurement. These three variables are theoretically that the social physique anxiety is the mediation effect between the self-objectification and the body dissatisfaction in woman dancers. Total 537 woman dancers were selected and analyzed in structure equating modeling. The construct validity of the structure equating modeling in this study was verified goodness of fit as TLI(Tucker-Lewis Index), CFI(Comparative Fit Index), and RMSEA(Root Mean Square Error of Approximation). The TLI was .939, CFI was .946 and RMSEA was .067 in this study. The statistical method of this study was Bootstrapping to analyze the mediation effect. As the result, the social physique anxiety was partial mediation effect between woman dancers' self-objectification and body dissatisfaction. This result means the self-objectification and the body dissatisfaction are positive correlation by the social physique anxiety's mediation effect. This result can also be interpreted effect size. The effect size explained that the self-objectification had so small effect to the social physique anxiety(4.8%) and the body dissatisfaction(1.4%) directly. Even if the mediation effect is significant statistically, the effect size means that woman dancers have any other factors. They may have another psychologic anxiety as dancers.
