Abstract/초록/요약
목적: 본 연구는 중학생을 대상으로 기존 성교육과 미디어 리터러시 기반 성교육을 제공하고 그 결과를 성인지감수성과 성적자기결정권 측면에서 비교하여 미디어 리터러시 기반 성교육의 효과를 평가하고자 하였다. 방법: 본 연구는 비동등성 대조군 전후 시차설계 연구로 부산광역시 C중학교의 1학년 학생 113명을 대상으로 하였다. 실험군은 55명, 대조군은 58명으로 나누어 실험군은 미디어 리터러시 기반 성교육 전·후 사전조사와 사후조사를 실시하고, 대조군은 기존 성교육 전·후 사전조사와 사후조사를 실시하여 성인지감수성과 성적자기결정권 점수변화를 비교하였다. 기존 성교육은 학교 성교육 표준안을 바탕으로 제공하였으며, 미디어 리터러시 기반 성교육은 미디어 메시지 분석 기술과 MIP 모델의 핵심개념을 바탕으로 제공하였다. 두 그룹 간 비교는 Mann-Whitney U test, 그룹 내 비교는 Wilcoxon signed rank test를 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 실험군의 성인지감수성이 대조군에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 향상되었고, 교육 후 실험군의 성인지감수성이 교육 전보다 유의하게 증가하였다. 성적자기결정권은 실험군과 대조군 간 유의한 차이가 없었으나 교육 후 실험군과 대조군의 성적자기결정권이 통계적으로 유의하게 증가하였다. 결론: 청소년의 성인지감수성을 향상시키는데 미디어 리터러시 기반 성교육이 효과적인 교육방안이 될 수 있다.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to provide middle school students with media literacy-based sex education and to evaluate its effects on gender sensitivity and sexual self-determination by comparing with conventional sex education. Methods: The research design is an interrupted time series design with a comparison group. The study subjects were first-year students of a single middle school (N=113) in a metropolitan city in Korea. The experimental group (n=55) received media literacy-based sex education while the control group (n=58) received conventional sex education. The two groups were compared in the aspects of gender sensitivity and sexual self-determination. Descriptive statistics were used and Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used for analyzing the data. Results: Gender sensitivity significantly improved in the experimental group compared with the control group. Sexual self-determination was not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusions: Media literacy-based sex education is effective in improving gender sensitivity among adolescents.
