Analysis on correlation between the heart rate variability and the recovery of heart rate after high intensity intermittent exercise

BACKGROUND: The heart rate variability (HRV) as an indicator of cardiac autonomic control is attracting increasing attention. In recent ten years, HRV research on sports has been developing rapidly.
METHODS: This paper mainly discusses the correlation between the HRV and the recovery of heart rate after high intensity intermittent exercise. The 50 subjects performed as two groups of low intensity exercise on the platform, the two groups of moderate intensity exercise and one group of high intensity exercises. The HRV in the 30-min recovery was analyzed by short time Fourier Transform.
RESULTS: It showed that high frequency power (HFP) at 3000 HI and 3000 MI during acute 5-min recovery was lower than that of 3000 LI. There was no difference among the first min, the fourth min, and the fifth min during the recovery period, which were higher than at the end of the movement.
CONCLUSIONS: Exercise intensity affected HRV level after exercise, but HRV had no effect on motor distance.
