2009 개정 교육과정을 통해 과목 통폐합과 시수축소, 학습량 증대로 인한 선택자 감소에 직면한 법교육은 큰 위기를 맞이하고 있다. 이러한 상황을 극복하고 법교육의 교육기회를 확대하기 위한 방안으로 개정 교육과정에서 신설된 창의적 체험활동에 연계된 법교육 교수학습 방안이 모색될 필요가 있다.
본 연구에서는 창의적 체험활동의 목표와 성격이 사회과의 민주시민교육 목표와 어떻게 연계되는지 밝히고, 이를 바탕으로 보다 구체적인 차원에서 법교육의 교수학습 프로그램들이 창의적 체험활동의 네 가지 영역에 어떻게 결합되어 활용될 수 있을 것인지 제시하였다.
이러한 연구를 통해 현장에서 혼란을 겪고 있는 창의적 체험활동의 교육내용도 내실화되는 동시에 시민교육으로서 법교육이 확장될 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해서는 본 연구에서 제시된 방향성을 기반으로 보다 구체화된 교수학습법과 프로그램 개발 등의 후속 연구들이 이어질 필요가 있다.
This study intends to explore the methods of LRE teaching and learning utilizing Creative Experience Activities newly introduced as the extra-curriculum in the 2009 revised national curriculum. This study finds out the associations between Creative Experience Activities and social LRE, then suggests the programs and types of education utilizing Creative Experience Activities. Programs available for social studies as Creative Experience Activities are as follows : an outsider’s lecture, a class to teach social issues, an academic research club, visiting agencies, the operation of research school. Based on these five ways methods, the four part of creative experience activities can be related : self-regulated activity, club activity, volunteering activity and career activity are classified as associated with social studies. With this study, Creative Experience Activities can be furtilizedn in the view of teaching-learning methods and also LRE can get a chance to acquire more opportunity for civic education. For that, more specified researches and program developements should as a manual for teachers should be followed.
