Abstract
Thermal explosion in (Ni + Al)/Nb/(Ni + Al + Nb) sandwiches was found to results in formation of (a) NiAlNb composite containing NiAl, NiAlNb, and trace amounts of Nb5Ni and (b) good joining with a transition zone.
