Abstract
The effect of the surface optical sensitization (SOS) of silver iodide in a multilayer structure by trace amounts of gaseous molecules of brilliant green dye is demonstrated. Using the surface plasmon resonance excitation, it is shown that the SOS causes changes in the surface layer parameters and can be used to develop highly sensitive and selective gas sensors.
