ABSTRACT
This chapter consists of two parts. The first part is a synopsis of the genetics of complex diseases. We describe analytical and experimental techniques for analyzing genetically complex diseases, including tests for linkage and/or association for mapping susceptibility genes, detection and genetic verification of sequence variants in candidate regions, and the use of expression arrays for identifying pathways involved in the etiology of complex genetic diseases.
