The purpose of this study is to evaluate the contribution of the traffic vibrations to the noise annoyance through two surveys. The first survey was carried out in terms of road traffic noise and vibration in Sapporo City. The survey comprised attitude interviews and the physical measurements outdoors. It was found that people responded with greater annoyance to the same traffic noises in the areas where traffic vibrations were severer. The second survey was carried out in terms of railway noise and vibration in the same manner as the case of road traffic. Almost the same results were obtained.
