Abstract
The current variety of electric drive concepts and possible application scenarios result in a matured product which is produced in small and medium volumes. The increasing demand for improved energy efficiency of industrial drives and the electrification of the automotive powertrain, result in new challenges for the electric drive production. Approaches from production research will be compared to the current demands in order to determine the most promising trends.
