Capability Determination of Educational Management in Africa

ABSTRACT: 

Educational management requires the same rigour and attention as any other management task. Well managed education, learning and development can deliver the right people with the right skills at the right time to enable African countries to deliver governments’ objectives and outcomes in the future. The purpose of this research paper is to: a) provide a better practice model for educational management processes b) foster a learning culture for better education outcomes. C) provide a source of audit criteria for any future work in this area. Although in recent years’ significant efforts have been made by different countries to ensure that their learning and development strategies are aligned with their social needs. Africa is still unable to demonstrate the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their educational investment in learning and development and their contribution to the education system outcomes. Essential factors contribute significantly to improving the education outcomes defined as increased literacy, numeracy and critical thinking for children living in extreme poverty. These factors include: supporting enrollment and retention, increasing access to schooling, improving quality in schools and improving institutional funding and management practices ensure that proper incentives are in place to support the previous three factors. The outlines of the innovative educational capability management model will be presented.
