In this study, using code developed in-house, the prediction of annual energy production (AEP) of wind farms was calculated, and economic analysis was performed based on distance from seashore and depth. The estimated AEP results were compared with those from WindPRO to validate the in-house code. To create wind resource map for calculating AEP, accurate wind estimation is necessary, and this study used WindSim, a Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS)-based commercial wind estimation program. The wind resource maps were used to input data for simulation to predict the AEP for wind farms, and included direction-specific scale factors and shape factors for each element. Additionally, the wind resource maps included Jensen wake models, which helped predict the AEP of wind farms. Using data from the wind resource maps and the code developed in-house, the error in AEP estimates was 0.004–0.461% compared to WindPRO estimates.
