A magneto-static coupled triple-layered medium was fabricated on a photopolymer-glass substrate by RF magnetron sputtering. The medium is composed of a reading layer, a non-magnetic intermediate layer, and a writing layer. The reading layer shows in-plane magnetization at room temperature and perpendicular magnetization at high temperature. Magnetically-Induced Super Resolution (MSR) was achieved by formation of a perpendicular magnetization mask in addition to an in-plane magnetization mask without applying a readout magnetic field. A carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) of 44 dB was obtained for a mark length of 0.38 μm.
