본 연구는 중국의 대표적인 혁신도시인 선전시를 중심으로 주요 신산업의 발전현황과 특징, 선전에 주재한 혁신기업의 성장전략과 신산업 경쟁력의 원천에 대해서 종합적으로 분석하였다. 선전시는 5G, 로봇, 시스템반도체, 전기자동차가 핵심 신산업으로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 선전의 신산업의 발전이 급속히 이루어진 이유는 선전지역 내 축전된 ICT 기술력, 균형잡힌 산업생태계, 사업화역량 등의 혁신요소를 보유하고 있기 때문으로 분석된다. 선전지역의 PCT 특허 신청건수는 중국전체의 45.6%를 차지하고 있으며, 민간 혁신기업을 중심으로 연구개발이 진행되면서 중국 전역에서 가장 앞서가는 기술축적 지역으로 꼽히고 있다. 산업생태계 측면에서도 선전은 세계 최고 수준이다. 즉, 중소기업 수, 스타트업 수, 대기업과 스타트업의 이노베이션 등을 기준으로 했을 때, 선전시는 세계적인 수준을 자랑한다. 사업화역량 측면에서 선전 경제권은 중국에서 가장 창업이 활성화된 곳이며, 창업을 통해 배출한 대기업으로는 텐센트, DJI, ZTE, 화웨이 같은 글로벌 기업이 있다. 산업의 혁신이 빠르게 일어나는 5G, 로봇, 시스템반도체, 전기자동차 등의 선전시의 신산업 분야에서 새로운 한중 협력방안 마련이 시급하다.

This study comprehensively analyzed the development status and characteristics of major new industries, the growth strategy of innovative enterprises and those new industries’ sources of competitiveness, centering on Shenzhen, China, a representative innovative city in China. Shenzhen City is developing 5G, robots, system semiconductors and electric vehicles into key new industries. Analysts say that the reason for the rapid development of these and other new industries in Shenzhen is that they utilize elements of the ICT technologies, balanced industrial ecosystems and commercialization capabilities in the Shenzhen area. The number of PCT patent applications in Shenzhen area accounts for 45.6 percent of all such applications in China, and is considered the most advanced technology accumulation area in China as research and development is carried out around private innovative companies. In terms of industrial ecology, Shenzhen is also the world’s best: based on the number of SMEs, the number of startups and the innovation of large companies and startups, Shenzhen City boasts a global level. In terms of commercialization capacity, Shenzhen’s economy is the most active in China, and the large companies that have emerged from startups include global companies including Tencent, DJI, ZTE and Huawei. It is urgent to design new Korea-China cooperation measures in new industries in Shenzhen, such as 5G, robots, system semiconductors, and electric cars, where industrial innovation is occuring rapidly.
