(Backgrounds and Purpose) In the21st century when social, cultural and economic development is accelerated, quality of life improves and public interest in culture increases. Accordingly, modern history museums should be changed into the space containing various emotional experiences and quality of life from the one expressing values through simple stories of the past. Such space should be a place containing life and human stories and a milestone for the future life. To museums, a narrative is the method to show historical stories and past lives in a form of text. Exhibition in the form of comprehensive meaning and concept needs a clear structure with finality regarding what kinds of meanings and stories should be delivered to viewers and how such meanings could be delivered. In doing this, museum of historic relics should interpret historical memories and events delivered to the viewers according to the intention of the planner from the contemporary perspectives and propose effective training and exhibition according to the purpose and meaning of exhibition through a narrative structure. This study tried to analyze narrative structure of domestic museums of historic relics, to understand types of museums through clear definition of museum of historic relics by understanding narrative structure and analyzing their forms through classification of configuration, roles and types of narratives, to propose narrative structure through case studies, to clarify reasonable applications of narrative structure elements to education of viewers and display operation and to provide theoretical supports for the establishment of museum of historic relics in the future. (Method) This study was performed to analyze space organization and display system of museums according to narrative structure with clear understanding on the definition and the concept of a narrative and to propose desirable space organization and display system. For research, we visited museums of historic relics case by case and analyzed them by interviewing staffs and reviewing floor plans and display system. (Result) It was analyzed that domestic museums of historic relics used epic structured narrative and epic structured narrative of the museums had chronical story telling structure. The narratives had linear structure and showed the flow from introduction to conclusion according to time flow. It was also analyzed that the most frequently used narrative characteristics was in the order of chronicle, causality and formality. (Conclusion) This study tried to analyze narrative structure of domestic museums of historic relics, to understand types of museums through clear definition of museum of historic relics by understanding narrative structure and analyzing their forms through classification of configuration, roles and types of narratives, to propose narrative structure through case studies, to clarify reasonable applications of narrative structure elements to education of viewers and display operation and to provide theoretical supports for the establishment of museum of historic relics in the future.
