Date of correction: February 24, 2009Reason for correction: -Correction: ABSTRACTDetails: Wrong : The effect of hue and brightness of I-figure in figural after-effects was examined by the similar method and under similar conditions as in the writer's previous experiments. Outline circles were used as I- and T-figures. I-circles were always twice as large as T-circles, since the results of previous studies show that this size ratio would produce maximal shrinkage of T-circles. The results of the present experiment showed that neither hue nor brightness of I-circles affected the magnitude of shrinkage of red and gray T-circles. This also meant that similarity in color between l-and T-figures had no effect on after-effects. To explain discrepancies among the experimental results of many investigators, four hypotheses were presented.
