The article deals with the progress of artificial intelligence (AI) in various aspects, with a special focus on the following topics: computational intelligence - machines can think; knowledge, complexity - AI and the reasoning of human being; biometrics - face recognition; logistics, reliability and accuracy of sensory information; automatic learning, artificial vision, robotics and innovations. The AI progress requires standardization, clear benchmarks (e.g, dialogue systems, planning and continuous robotics control) in all areas.
