These lecture notes are accompanying the course "Intellectual Property and Digital Information: Law, Politics, and Culture" (ABMA18) at the Department for Arts and Cultural Sciences, Lund University. It is considering cultural, political, legal, but also economical aspects of Intellectual Property, including those relevant outside a Western context. It provides an overview of the legal situation in an international, European, and national setting, taking Sweden as an example. Readers will gain an understanding of the various forms of IP (copyright, patent, trademark, etc.) and expanding or antagonistic concepts including the creative commons, open access, open source, and piracy.
