Presentation of a Charters Encoding Initiative (CEI)-based diplomatics extension for the the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI P5) for charter-specific elements of markup, specifically, methods of authentication, as part of the preservation of documents in the „Illuminierte Urkunden als Gesamstkunstwerk“ project. A proceed of the FWF project FWF-Projekt „Retain Domain Specific Functionalities in a Generic Repository with Humanities Data“ (ORD84).
