Non-Destructive Evaluation of Hydraulic Conditions in Service Pipeline using Elastic Wave MethodTomohiro Kitanohara1, Jun Homma1, Tetsuya Suzuki2101Obayashi Road Corporation, Tokyo, Japan 2Niigata University6, Niigata, Japan Abstract: For the effective evaluation of hydraulic conditions of pipeline system, it is necessary to evaluate not only steady flow parameters but also unsteady flow conditions. In this study, quantitative evaluation of stress concentration in model pipeline is going to be performed, applying 3D image analysis and fracture mechanics. The characteristics of stress conditions in model pipeline are correlated with un-steady flow. Using image analysis method, a relationship different inner water pressure conditions and detected fracture mechanics parameters are correlated. By NDT monitoring in service pipeline based on these results, the stress-strain characteristics is successfully detected by 3D image analysis.
