Local area estimates of Australia's sexual minority population

These population estimates by sexual identity accompany the paper "Local area estimates and geographical patterns of Australia’s sexual minority population". They consist of SA3 area usually resident populations at 30th June 2016 and are consistent with ABS Estimated Resident Populations for that date. Be aware that these are approximate estimates, not precise counts. Please refer to the paper for details of the strengths and weaknesses of the data. It is recommended that these estimates are rounded to the nearest 100 and reported as "approximate estimates".
