Breaking the silence

Peter Dunn Head of research and development, Victim Support

PETER DUNN describes the effect of rape and sexual assault on men, and why it is time for the victims to speak out

John was assaulted in a pub and his injuries were horrific. He had been punched, kicked and hit over the head with iron bars. His nose had been broken and his skull had been penetrated by a stiletto heel. He had also suffered knife wounds and cigarette burns–and then he had been stripped naked and sexually assaulted.
