[Ref-Links] LinkBaton

Openly Informatics has announced its LinkBaton service, to begin 
operation by the end of the year.

The LinkBaton service will allow internet content providers to make 
identifier-based hyperlinks which are redirected to resolving 
services according to user preferences.

Readers of this list will recognize  URN, PURL, PubMed LinkOut, and 
SFX in LinkBaton's lineage.

Given well-administered and transparent journal article identifiers, 
LinkBaton, in concert with resolving services such as SFX, solves the 
"multiple-copy" problem summarized by Dale Flecker and Pricilla 
Caplan.
