eLib, the body that manages the various UK universities'
electronic library projects, has produced a useful guideline
document on standards. It is currently in
draft form at
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/services/elib/papers/other/standards/version2
- a final version will be put up after 18 September. As
well as giving an
interesting idea of the metadata and other standards
recommended for the various projects, it also provides a
useful synopsis of current standards of all kinds.

Imprimatur's next Consensus Forum, 3-4 November in Munich,
is also about standards. I'd be interested to know how
many members of this list are planning on
going. It is obviously very closely related to the
concerns of this group.
